Whisky is one of the classic liqueurs in American culture. There are some great drinks that are made using whisky. These cocktail recipes are easy to make and are classic whisky drinks.

sourWhisky Sour

1 ½ ounces whisky
1 ½ ounces lemon juice
¾ ounce simple syrup

Put all of these ingredients into a cocktail shake. Add ice cubes. Shake well. Strain the mixture into a glass over ice. This can be garnished with a cherry.
This drink is sour without being overpowering. The whisky also has the chance to shine through.

1 ½ ounces bourbon whiskey
1 ounce lemon juice
½ ounce simple syrup
Club soda

Fill up a tall glass with ice cubes. Add the whiskey, lemon juice, and the syrup. Shake well. Top with enough club soda to fill up the glass. This can be garnished with a slice of an orange.
This drink is a little on the sour side but has a nice and fresh bubbly addition to it.

4 ounces hot coffee
1 ½ ounce Irish whiskey
2tsp brown sugar
1 ounce whipped cream

In a coffee mug put the coffee and the sugar. Give it a good stir. Add the whiskey. Stir the drink again. Put the whipped cream on top.
This drink is nice and warm and is really great on a cold day. The heat from the coffee and the kick from the whiskey will really warm a person up.

Put all of these ingredients into a cocktail strainer and add ice. Shake well. Strain into a cocktail glass that has been chilled.
This is a drink dating all the way back from the 1930s and has been enjoyed for a number of years.
